Start Smarter: Know the Real Costs Before You Commit
Before outlaying $30K–$40K on full architectural design fees, our Concept Design + Cost Analysis gives you complete clarity on design options, construction costs, and project feasibility — all for a fraction of the investment.
Adding a second storey is about more than space. It’s about how you live. At The Perfect Space, we take a holistic approach. That means reworking your ground floor as part of the same design, so your entire home flows together. From reconfiguring old kitchens and poky laundries to opening up living zones and improving natural light, our second storey additions transform homes from the ground up. We don’t believe in "pop-tops." We believe in homes that feel architecturally resolved, timeless, and personal.
The Perfect Space is a boutique, multi-award winning Sydney building & interior design company. We specialise in architectural builds and custom renovation projects.
Most builders avoid ground floor changes. It slows them down and breaks their "cookie cutter" process. But if your ground floor doesn't work, adding a second storey won’t solve much. We take the time to resolve kitchen flow, living layout, and outdoor connection—so your upstairs plan integrates beautifully with the life you live downstairs. This is how you create real value.
Our premium, end-to-end design and build service for homeowners planning a large-scale construction project, whether it’s a second-storey addition, structural extension, or full internal transformation. We handle everything in-house — from concept design, planning approval, and interior selections, right through to construction, project management, and final handover.

No vague estimates. No pressure. Just clarity and confidence from the beginning.

Yes. Whether it’s a Development Application (DA) or Complying Development Certificate (CDC), we manage the process end-to-end—plans, consultants, reports, submissions, and follow-up.
Yes—this is a collaborative process.
During the Concept Design + Cost Analysis phase, we present the closest possible design aligned with your brief and wishlist. It’s not the final design, but it sets a clear foundation for discussions around scope, priorities, and cost.
Design changes are not made in this stage.
The real refinement happens in the next stage—our Building Approval Agreement phase—where we develop the design in detail. This is when floorplans, selections, and layouts are fine-tuned to ensure everything is fully resolved and ready for approvals.
We’ll explain this in more detail during your concept presentation meeting.
No. Our interior designers are part of the team. From materials to lighting to styling, we manage the entire interiors package—no handovers, no guesswork.
Completely. Your site manager, designer, and architect all stay involved throughout. You also get full access to our online portal for daily progress, approvals, and updates.
One of the biggest mental blocks homeownersface is moving out. It feels overwhelming—but avoiding it often leads to poordecisions. Renting a smaller apartment for a few months is a small price to payfor getting the best result. Clients who move out get a faster, safer build—anda home that’s worth the wait.
If moving out is not an option, we will discuss alternatives. We have hadclients live through renovations—but only if it's safe to do so, and the scopeallows for it. In these cases, we sequence the works carefully to minimisedisruption and maintain liveable areas during the build.
