Luxury Alterations & Additions in Mosman by The Perfect Space

At The Perfect Space Design + Build, we deliver high-quality, energy-efficient, and contemporary alterations and additions that seamlessly complement the traditional heritage front façades of Mosman homes.

For this project, our intent was to create a subtle transition from the timeless Federation-style frontage to a light-filled, modern rear extension — resulting in a family home designed for living, entertaining, relaxing, working, and playing.

Upon entering, the existing ground-floor bedrooms have been revitalised with restored timber floors and a fresh material palette. Moving further into the home, the new extension opens dramatically with a double-storey void, skylights, and high-level windows, allowing natural light to flood the interiors. A warm palette of materials combined with soaring ceilings transforms formerly dark spaces into welcoming, connected living zones.

The original rear extension was removed to allow a reimagined floorplan that encourages togetherness, linking the living, dining, and kitchen spaces directly to the backyard and pool area. The new second-storey addition features a clean, linear façade designed for timelessness, while enhanced insulation, double-glazed windows, and a light-coloured roof ensure superior thermal performance and year-round comfort.

By selecting durable materials and carefully considering room proportions, we’ve created a home designed to adapt effortlessly as the family grows. The result is a Mosman residence that celebrates its Federation heritage while embracing a contemporary, luxury addition that feels cohesive, comfortable, and enduring for generations to come.
